Urgent alert regarding Bridgewater Place junction closure:
Plan ahead for travelling through Leeds city centre late afternoon today (Wed) as the Bridgewater Place junction will be closed from 5pm due to predicted high winds of up to 60mph.
The original planned closure of 4pm has now been pushed back to 5pm after a review of predicted weather conditions and wind speeds.
Anyone working in the area might want to consider staggering journeys home and people should be aware that pedestrians as well as traffic will be diverted from the junction of Water Lane, Victoria Road and Neville Street. It is expected that the diversions will need to be in place until the early hours of the morning, possibly around 1am.
Conditions will continue to be monitored and reviewed. Traffic updates are available on Twitter from @LeedsTravelInfo at and further updates about junction closures will be posted on the Leeds City Council website at www.leeds.gov.uk and on the council's press office Twitter feed @LeedsCC_News
