It was a Sunday afternoon to remember in Leeds, as a star-studded line-up rocked the crowd at Party in the Park.
On hand to delight the fans at Temple Newsam Park was a host of established chart topping artists including: Olly Murs, Scouting for Girls, Loveable Rogues, Stooshe, Blue, Professor Green and Dizzee Rascal.
Organised by Leeds City Council 96.3 Radio Aire and hosted by breakfast hosts Rich Williams and Naomi Kent, gig-goers were treated to a string of hits, that also included performances from up and coming artists A*M*E, John Newman and X Factor’s Lucy Spraggan.
Delighted to be at the event was Professor Green, who said he was “excited” at taking the stage, and would provide a show that had great “energy”.
It was also an afternoon never to forget for John Newman, who revealed that he attended Party in the Park previously as a fan. He added that the concert was a “big highlight” in the city’s calendar, and it was great to see so many “big acts in one day”.
Councillor Lucinda Yeadon, Leeds City Council’s executive member for leisure & skills said:
“Party in the Park is one of our city’s most popular annual events, and I am delighted to say that today’s concert was again absolutely fantastic.
“There really was something for everyone, and it was great to see the crowd so entertained.
“An amazing amount of hard work is undertaken behind the scenes by council staff and its partners to prepare for both Party and Opera in the Park. I would like thank everyone who played their part in making this weekend at Temple Newsam Park so unforgettable.”
