The Lord Mayor of Leeds Councillor Ann Castle has congratulated City of Leeds swimmer Claire Cashmore who tonight claimed a third medal at the London 2012 Paralympic Games with silver in a thrilling women's 4 x 100m medley relay 34 points race.

Lord Mayor of Leeds Councillor Ann Castle said:

“Well done to Claire Cashmore for winning her third medal at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Together with her silver and bronze from earlier this week Claire has been really impressive taking on the tough challenge of competing in six different events at the Games. Adding to her medal collection from Beijing and Athens with more success at a third successive Games is a real testament to her talent and dedication to her sport and we are very proud of her.”
