Party in the Park ticket details announced

The date and ticket process for this year’s Party in the Park concert at Temple Newsam have been announced today.

The UK’s biggest annual free outdoor pop event organised by Leeds City Council and 96.3 Radio Aire will take place on Sunday 22 July with a host of chart-topping acts performing at Temple Newsam Park.

The successful ballot system for tickets introduced last year will again be in operation with those wishing to attend able to register their interest at www.radioaire.com/partyinthepark from 8am on Monday 21 May.

The registration period will run for four weeks before closing at 10pm on Sunday 17 June, with applicants able to apply for a maximum of four tickets per household.

Priority will again be given to all people living in Leeds where the property is registered to Leeds City Council. Multiple applications from the same address will not be considered and a proportion of the tickets will be weighted towards local resident applications living in the Temple Newsam area. People living outside of Leeds will be able to apply, but due to the expected high demand it is unlikely they will be successful.

A draw will then be carried out, with those selected to be in the 70,000-capacity crowd being notified by email before 10pm on Thursday 21 June. This confirmation will also include details of how and when to collect the tickets in person from the reception of 96.3 Radio Aire on Burley Road, including the requirement for proof of ID to be shown in the form of utility or council tax bill matching the name and address of the successful applicant.

Disability ticket requests will also form part of the draw, with additional information being provided to successful applicants regarding access and parking at the venue.

Anyone without access to the internet can use the free computer facilities in all Leeds libraries and the Leeds Visitor Centre to make their application.

Announcements of the star names to be performing at Temple Newsam Park will be made on 96.3 Radio Aire and by media partner the Yorkshire Evening Post in the coming weeks, building up to the big day itself on Sunday 22 July.

Leeds City Council executive member for leisure Councillor Adam Ogilvie said:

“Party in the Park is a phenomenally popular event for Leeds so we are repeating the ballot system for tickets from last year as we feel it is the fairest and best way for everyone in the city wishing to attend to have an equal chance.

“The concert itself is a brilliant day out at Temple Newsam Park so we look forward to another amazing line-up this year and would advise anyone wanting to be there to make sure they register or they will miss out.”

Rich Williams from Radio Aire Breakfast said:

“I’m so pleased we’re able to confirm the date for this year’s Party in the Park at Temple Newsam. It’s such an amazing day for Leeds and we’re lining up some unforgettable acts to perform for free. No other city puts on a free party like this!

“We will be announcing the line-up of acts live on Radio Aire Breakfast over the coming weeks. I’ve already had a sneaky peak at the list and I’m so excited, I’ll have to do my best to keep my mouth shut and not let anything out of the bag!”

Further details of the ticketing system and full instructions of how to register including a useful frequently asked questions page are available at the official Party in the Park webpage at www.radioaire.com/partyinthepark.

Anyone with any accessibility issues or concerns about registering for tickets can also contact Leeds City Council’s events team on 0113 395 0891 or by email at events@leeds.gov.uk.

Party in the Park will be preceded the previous evening by Opera in the Park on Saturday 21 July. Details of this year’s event will be announced shortly.
