New political make-up of Leeds City Council

As a result of the local elections in Leeds, the new make-up of the city council is as follows:

Overall situation

Labour [LAB]: 55 seats (up from 48)
Conservative [CON]: 21 seats (down from 22)
Lib Dem [LD]: 16 seats (down from 21)
Morley Borough Independents [MBI]: 5 seats (down from 6)
Green: two seats (no change)

Ward changes

Burmantofts and Richmond Hill: LAB gain from LD
Headingley: LAB gain from LD
Horsforth: CON gain from LD
Moortown: LAB gain from LD
Morley South: LAB gain from MBI
Rothwell: LAB gain from LD
Roundhay: LAB gain from CON
Temple Newsam: LAB gain from CON
