Tropical World in Roundhay will close for a week in February to allow for planned maintenance work to take place.
The popular visitor attraction, which gained a number of new snappy and slippery inhabitants at the end of last year, will be closed from Monday 8th February to Friday 12th February 2010.
The work will be completed in time for the school half-term holidays, with Tropical World open again as usual from 10am on Saturday 13th February.
The work will include essential maintenance on some of the public areas, with no disruption to any of the animals.
With the three new three young Morelet’s crocodiles, Burmese python and ever popular Meerkats, Tropical World will be open again and able to entertain the children again over the half term holiday.
Leeds City Council executive member for Leisure Councillor John Procter said:
“This work needs to carried out as it is part of the continued running and essential maintenance of Tropical World.. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to anyone, and hope that visitors will enjoy visiting the centre from the start of half term.”
