The joint leader of the council left his car at home today (Monday) and walked into work to mark the launch of the Walk to Work campaign in Leeds.

Despite the April showers, Councillor Richard Brett abandoned his usual mode of transport and made the six kilometre journey into Leeds city centre on foot to highlight the benefits of walking and actively encourage more people to support the campaign.

Walk to Work Week is a national campaign organised by Living Streets. Its all about raising awareness of the benefits of walking and encouraging the nation to fit more of it into their everyday lives.
